Mexico Farm to Table Tour.

Sometimes, you just gotta get out!!

Classic line from the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun". (Awesome movie - the sexy Diane Lane , Tuscany, renovation of a decrepit villa and love, everything that is right up my alley!!) and the inspiration for my recent trip to Mexico. After 3 years at Grausdin focused on building a cabin, building a ranch, starting new businesses, homeschooling the kids and chauffeuring kids to their various activities, I decided to fulfill a dream of visiting 2 luxury farm to table resorts in Cabo, Mexico - Flora Farms and Tamarindos. Grateful for my boys that encouraged me to take this trip!!

And I was not disappointed - I spent the afternoon cooking amongst the most beautiful food forest - gardens of fresh food and flowers everywhere. I got the opportunity to cook with chefs that trained in Paris, all over Mexico and at the Cordon Blue Academy. 

And Flora Farms is sooo much more than food gardens and cooking. In addition to having a restaurant, bar, ice cream parlor, market with local produce and small strip mall with shops offering local products, they have residences that you can rent that are equipped with a gourmet kitchen and scattered amongst the gardens with access to a shared pool area. So Image staying in one of these luxury accommodations and being able to pick your produce, access meat from the restaurant (which is also locally sourced from another property that they own) and whip up fresh, organic meals in your very own kitchen...

Would (could) something like this be doable in Canada?? I guess we will have to wait it see!! 

Grateful for the opportunity to have a week to relax, be out of my element, get inspired and exercise my creativity muscles.
