Rob and I have a new game…
It’s called “How long will Megan’s dollar deal greenhouse last”.
In theory, this purchase was a great idea. Let me explain.
Since mid-March my front foyer has looked like this….
I designed this southeast facing space to take full advantage of the morning and afternoon sunlight. I would enjoy my morning coffee and catch up on work, with the rays and heat shining through my windows, hitting my face and warming me up.
When we needed to start seedlings for our market garden, I thought, this would be the perfect space! But now it seems we have an invasion, which is awesome because our plants are doing so well, but not so awesome for the family who has lost access to their front entryway. And my morning office chair had to be relocated.
So I found this dollar deal greenhouse at one of the farm big box stores. When I brought it home, Rob chuckled and commented that the wind will take it away in no time. (It does get very windy on our property).
But since we were running out of space in the foyer, I decided to set it up (in 50km/h winds) against the fence, in a corner in the garden. I added bricks to the bottom to hold it down - not fancy but so far it’s working.
I guess only time will tell if it will do the job keeping my seedlings warm and cozy for the next month. Might be time to revisit that greenhouse business plan...
