Getting ready for the move.

Having never moved a building before, we had no idea how to plan for it. One priority was enjoying one last lakeview sunset through the big living room windows. Only sunrises will be enjoyed through these windows going forward!

Everything had to be taken out of the cabin or tied down so that it didn’t fly around during the move.

All of the decks needed to be removed from the building.

And moved to the new site.

Hydro had to come and disconnect the power from the cabin and reconnect it to a farm service that we installed in the garage.

The piles at the ranch had plates welded onto them. These plates will support and fasten the beams of the cabin to the piles.

And Raco had to bask in the sunlight on the front deck for a few more hours on her new favorite mat. (Thank you Jackie!)

All set for tomorrow’s move!
